And let’s give Dubas credit: he’s built depth on this team, so we have the option of putting in Holl when we need embiggening, and Liljegren when we want puck moving.

I don't think many of us are. We're complaining that he's the seventh best D and being put in the top 6. He's fine on the bottom pair to most people, but Liljegren is better.

There are a couple people who think he's Marincin bad, and those are obviously exaggerated opinions, but to say he shouldn't realistically be in the lineup is not an absurd opinion. I'd much prefer Lil in.

Do I think Holl deserves to be resigned after next year? We’ll see but nothing guaranteed currently. He’s a solid physical d man which the leafs currently need tho so I like him in the lineup.

And that’s fine, but we all need to recognize they are interchangeable 6/7, and they are going to come in and out of the lineup based on the coach’s thoughts.

I’m going to check who I said was going to be my whipping boy this year, but at this point, I don’t hate a single Leafs player.

I don’t hate Holl he is what he is (and what he’s paid to be). That being said I’d prefer to have Lilly in over Holl but I think I understand why Keefe put Holl in - No Simmonds or Clifford and he wanted the bigger body.

I’ll defer the line up decisions to Keefe after the way last nights line up performed & the result.

The Leafs practiced in Tampa on Saturday and did not make any lineup changes, but did move Alex Kerfoot back to the top line with Matthews and Marner, shifted Pierre Engvall to the third line with Mikheyev and Kampf, and Michael Bunting to the fourth line with Blackwell and Spezza.

So is Keefe thinking for tomorrow:

And therein lies the problem; you equating a differing opinion as hate. I don't hate Holl. But I still prefer him out of the lineup. and guess what, for two games, so did Keefe. I get the idea of swapping out 6/7 guys, and it's fair, and although I do think Liljgeren is better. And stronger, btw. Holl is continually the weakest D-man on the roster in front of the net, so how you got to the conclusion that Holl is strong is weird. He's also the worst at pinches and it did cost them yesterday. But he can add value. Like I said, swapping 6/7 guys throughout a series is fine, and acceptable, but leaving one guy (Lily) in for all 7 would be fine too, and my personal preference.
